Time tracking in the warehouse

Published

Since a 2022 ruling by Germany's Federal Labour Court, businesses have to record working hours. For the office there are a hundred apps. The warehouse is trickier: not everyone has a company email address, nobody wants to log in on their phone with a password, and per-seat licence fees add up quickly.

Tap the chip, done

The solution for junaspin is deliberately simple: a tablet hangs on the wall and runs in kiosk mode. Next to it sits an NFC reader that behaves like a keyboard – no driver, no tinkering. Whoever arrives taps their chip. The second time, the terminal asks: break or leave? If the chip is still at home, there is a PIN.

What happens behind the scenes

  • holidays, sick notes and corrections run through requests with approval
  • time accounts and the monthly close are calculated automatically
  • checks against the Working Hours Act warn in good time
  • the payroll export lands as a ready-made DATEV file with the payroll office

Why build it yourself?

Off-the-shelf tools quickly cost several hundred to over two thousand euros a year for 20 people – every year. A custom solution belongs to the business, fits the warehouse workflow exactly and has no minimum term.
